TAG’s 10-Day Orientation Course in Dramatics held at Khandepar, Ponda
Tiatr Academy of Goa in Collaboration with Olaph Fernandes, resident of Opa, Khandepar, Ponda organized a 10-day Orientation Course in Dramatics (Acting & Singing) from 7/10/2017 to 16/10/2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at St. Anthony’s Chapel Hall, Khandepar, Ponda.
The workshop was inaugurated on 7/10/2017 by lighting the traditional lamp at the hands of TAG Vice President Shri. William Fernandes, Fr. Richard D’Silva, OFM, Resource Person Shri. Michael Gracias, Member Secretary of TAG Shri. Jose Alexandre Rodrigues and one of the participant. In all 52 aspirants participated in this 10-day orientation course.
Shri. Michael Gracias, one of the finest multi-faceted artiste was the Main Resource Person and guided the participants on various aspects of acting. Shri. Joe Rose, a senior tiatr artiste trained the participants in composing the lyrics of songs in tiatr while Shri. William Fernandes, Vice President of TAG gave a brief history of tiatr. The Co-coordinator Shri. Olaph Fernandes, a teacher and musician took one session on ‘Tiatr Music’ which was well enjoy by the participants.
The valedictory function was held on 16/10/2017. The participants were divided into 5 groups who presented 5 small skits which were very well presented by them. The Certificates of Participation were distributed at the hands of the Vice President of TAG Shri. William Fernandes. Resource Person Shri. Michael Gracias said that we can see lots of God given hidden talents in the participants which they have to make the best use of. He also urged Shri. Olaph to put up a Children’s Tiatr at TAG’s forthcoming Children’s Tiatr Competition by involving in it the participants of this Workshop. Shri. William Fernandes, Vice President of TAG emphasized on the various schemes of TAG and insisted upon them to avail the benefits of the schemes like learning blowing instruments, Tiatr in Villages, etc. Fr. Richard D’Silva, OFM thanked TAG for organizing the orientation course and bringing out the hidden talents in the children. Some of the participants gave their feedback on the workshop while some parents of the participants thanked TAG and specially Olaph Fernandes for conducting the orientation course and giving their children an opportunity to learn acting and other aspects of tiatr. One of the participants of the Workshop Miss. Anoushka Fernandes welcomed and also compered the function. Shri. Olaph Fernandes, proposed a vote of thanks. Miss. 10-Day Orientation Course in Dramatics (Acting & Singing) at Majorda
Tiatr Academy of Goa in Collaboration with Kala Niketan (Goa) organized a 10-day Orientation Course in Dramatics (Acting & Singing) from 12/09/2017 to 22/09/2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Church Hall, Majorda.
The workshop was inaugurated on 12/09/2017 by lighting the traditional lamp at the hands of eminent tiatr personality Smt. Dorothy Mascarenhas (Dolla) in the presence of Fr. Mario D’Souza. In all 25 aspirants participated in this 10 day orientation course.
Shri. Pradeep Vernekar, an expert in the field of theatre in acting, direction etc was the Main Resource Person and guided the participants on various aspects of acting. Shri. Michael Gracias, one of the finest multi-faceted artiste and President of Kala Niketan (Goa) trained the participants to compose the lyrics of songs in tiatr and also gave them a brief history of tiatr.
The valedictory function was held on 23/09/2017. Shri. Joaquim Faleiro, a well-known tiatr artiste from Majorda welcomed. The participation certificates were distributed at the hands of the Chief Guest Fr. Ave Maria Afonso, Parish Priest of Mother of God Church, President of TAG Shri. Agostinho Temudo, Resource Person Shri. Pradeep Vernekar and Member Secretary of TAG Shri. Jose Alexandre Rodrigues. Fr. Ave Maria Alfonso praised TAG for holding the orientation course in dramatics for the youngsters of Majorda and also appreciated Shri. Michael Gracias for taking initiative in conducting the course in Majorda for the third time. Shri. Agostinho Temudo, President of TAG promised to extend his full support in organizing various activities for training the youngsters in tiatr as they are the future pillars of Tiatr and also said that in future there will be one session on Comedy in tiatr as ‘Comedian’ is one of the most important character in tiatr. Resource Person, Shri. Pradeep Vernekar also spoke about the unique format of Tiatr. The participants presented a small play ‘Sat Kudd’dde Bhikari’ and also rendered two songs (a verse and chorus each) which were well composed by them as a part of the training. Shri. Michael Gracias, President of Kala Niketan (Goa) proposed a vote of thanks. Ms. Lara Gracias compered.

Tiatr Academy Goa organised Orientation Course in Dramatics for youngsters
In order to inculcate acting amongst the younger generation, Tiatr Academy of Goa in collaboration with Clube Harmonia de Margao organised a course in acting for youngsters in the age group of 18 years to 40 years from 4th May 2015 to 29th May 2015 at Clube Harmonia, Margao Goa. The classes were held thrice a week.
Shri Joaquim Filipe Soares, President of Clube Harmonia de Margao inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Prince Jacob, President of TAG and Member Secretary, Jose Alexandre Rodrigues on 4th May 2015. In all 22 aspirants participated in this 12 day course.
The workshop focussed on acting and Shri. Domnic D’Costa, visiting lecturer of Kala Academy’s School of Drama was the main resource person. Shri Michael Gracias, a well known tiatr personality and writer was also roped in for one day to explain a brief history of tiatr and its format to the participants.
The workshop concluded on 29th May 2015. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Jacob, President of Tiatr Academy said that to be a good actor one need to be a good human being. Shri Arlindo de Miranda, Executive Committee member of Clube Harmonia de Margao while proposing a vote of thanks praised the efforts of Tiatr Academy in promoting tiatr. He further said that Clube Harmonia is known for heritage building and organising Portuguese programmes. Very few people know that this club is also promoting Konkani and he promised to extend its support in organising such activities.
Miss Veloshka Da Costa and Shri Elliton Fernandes, both participants shared their experiences during 12 day training period and confirmed that whatever they have learnt will be very useful for them to make their career in acting.
All the participants were awarded a certificate of participation. TAG also reimbursed the to and fro travelling allowance to the participants.
