TAG presented Lifetime Contribution Awards on the Birth Anniversary Joao Agostinho Fernandes  

On the 14th December, 2017 Tiatr Academy of Goa in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan Margao, celebrated the Birth Anniversary of late Joao Agostinho Fernandes – Father of Tiatr. On this occasion, TAG presented Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards (Commercial) to five veteran tiatr artistes for their valuable contribution to the tiatr stage. The awards were conferred on five well-known tiatr personalities Agapito B.C. Xavier, Bonifacio Pereira, Humbert Fernandes, John Vaz (Marcus Vaz) & William Fernandes.

The awards were presented at a specially organized function at the Pai Tiatrist Auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao – Goa, at the hands of the Guest of Honour Shri.Roseferns, Vetaran Tiatr Artiste.
 
Earlier, Agostinho Temudo, President of Tiatr Academy welcomed the guests.
Shri.Roseferns in his address congratulated the five awardees and also TAG.
The function was compered by well-known personality Pradeep Naik. The function was coordinated by Mrs. Uprita Asolkar.

Shri.Saish Pai Palondikar, Vice Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Margao gave the Vote of Thanks. Shri.Cezar D’mello, Member Secretary,TAG was also present.

The function was followed with staging a Konkani Musical Show by Benny de Aldona and his troupe.

Regina’s Birth Anniversary celebrated –‘Young Achievers Awards - 2017’ presented

Tiatr Academy of Goa celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Regina Fernandes, the First Lady of the Tiatr Stage on 16th November, 2017 at the Conference Hall of Institute Menezes Braganza, Panjim. On this occasion, TAG presented ‘Young Achievers Awards-2017’ to two of the brightest artistes of Tiatr, Ms. Anita S. A. Fernandes (Comedian Anita) and Mr. Broyan Fernandes (Comedian Bryan) for their valuable contribution to Tiatr. The awards consisted of a memento, citation and cash purse of Rs. 20,000/-.

The awards were presented at the hands of the Chief Guest, Smt. Maria Conceicao Cardozo e Dias (Jessie Dias), a renowned veteran tiatr artiste in the presence of Mrs. Sharmila Fernandes, the grand daughter of Regina, who was the Special Invitee. 

Jessie Dias congratulated both the awardees and also TAG for promoting Tiatr by organizing different Workshops and recognizing the work of tiatr artistes.

Awardee Comedian Anita in her trade mark comical style thanked TAG for recognizing her work and bestowing this award upon her. She thanked all her Directors for giving her a break to act in their tiatr. She also thanked her parents and all her fans. She made a special mention of her mentor in Goa University while perusing her MA late Professor Madhavi Sardessai. The other awardee Comedian Bryan also thanked TAG for recognising his contribution as he did not canvas for this award and also thanked all his troupe members and specially his parents acknowledging that the credit should also go to them, as without their support he alone would not have been able to contribute.

Shri. William Fernandes, Vice President of TAG welcomed and Shri. Jose Alexandre Rodrigues, Member Secretary of TAG proposed a vote of thanks. The function was compered by well-known tiatr personality Antonet De Sousa.

Birth Anniversary of Lucasinho Ribeiro, the Creator of Tiatr celebrated –
                              ‘Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards’ presented

 

Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) in collaboration with Lucasinho Ribeiro Tiatr Academy, Assagao celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Creator of Tiatr – Lucasinho Ribeiro on 2ndJanuary 2017 at Union High School Ground, Assagao. On this occasion TAG presented ‘Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Award’ (non-commercial) to 4 veteran tiatr artistes viz. Cezar D’Mello, Menino Araujo, Hilariano D’Costa  and Jose Luis Diago Fernandes (Danny of Ribandar) for their immense contribution towards the development of Tiatr. They were felicitated at the hands of the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Minister for Art & Culture, Shri. Dayanand Mandrekar. Besides this, the Lucasinho Ribeiro Tiatr Academy, Assagao felicitated 2 local tiatr artistes from Assagao viz. Loraine Dias  and Stephen Dias. Shri. Tomazinho Cardozo, Ex-Speaker of Goa Legislature Assembly and  Shri. Vasudev Korgaonkar , Vice-President of Zilla Parishad North were the Guest of Honours.

Awardee Shri. Cezar D’Mello and  Jose Luis Diago Fernandes (Danny of Ribandar) on behalf of the other awardees thanked Tiatr Academy of Goa for recognizing their contribution to tiatr.

Shri. Tomazinho Cardozo, explained how he gathered information of  Lucasinho Ribeiro  and requested the State Government to name the main auditorium of the proposed Ravindra Bhavan, Mapusa after him.  Shri. Victor D’Souza, Secretary of Lucasinho Ribeiro Tiatr Academy, Assagao and  Shri. Vasudev Korgaonkar also spoke on the occassion

Chief Guest, Shri. Dayanand Mandrekar congratulated the awardees  and appreciated the hardwork  they have done  towards the development of tiatr.   He also appreciated Mr. Tomazinho Cardozo for his efforts  in gathering the information on Lucasinho Ribeiro  and documenting it, as a result of which one can access it now through the net

Jose Alexandre Rodrigues, Member Secretary of TAG were  also present on the dais. Smt. Jessie Dias, President of Lucasinho Ribeiro Tiatr Academy, Assagao proposed a vote of thanks.

The function was compered by Ruildo D’Souza, Treasurer of LRTA, Assagao.

This ceremony was followed by a Children’s  tiatr ‘Good for Nothing’ by Michael Gracias  and his troupe.
