Tiatr Academy Goa (TAG) organized its monthly programme ‘Somplolea Tiatristancho Ugddas’ – (Remembering Tiatr Artistes of Yester Years) at the Conference Hall of TAG, Campal Trade Centre, Campal, Panjim on 18th November 2011. The tiatr artistes born in the month of November and who are no more with us today namely Chris Perry, Valent Mascarenhas, Cecilia Machado, M. Dod de Verna, Seby D’Souza, Bab Peter and Luis Dias were remembered.

Shri. Tomazinho Cardozo, President of TAG informed in brief about their valuable contribution to the tiatr stage. Chris Perry, the music wizard will always be remembered by Konkani loving people for his attempts in promoting Konkani Kantar not only in Goa but also nationally and internationally, he concluded.

Shri. Roseferns, Vice President of TAG enumerated his experiences with the artistes namely Bab Peter and Luis Dias who acted in Roseferns tiatrs. J. P. Fernandes sang a song of M. Dod de Verna and brought M. Dod de Verna alive among the audience. Peter Dias, godchild of later Bab Peter, rendered a song of Bab Peter and paid respect to his godfather.

The audience which included family members of the late artistes as well as tiatr lovers volunteered to share their experiences with the late artistes. The popular artistes of tiatr stage Dola Mascarenhas, rendered a song of her father late Valent Mascarenhas. Franky D’Souza narrated his experiences with late Cecilia Machado. Socorro de Santa Cruz remembered Chris Perry and Bab Peter by rendering their songs while Jessie Dias dealt with her personal experiences with the artistes.

Earlier Shri. Roseferns, Vice President of TAG welcomed the audience and later Shri. Victor de Sa, Member Secretary of TAG proposed a vote of thanks. Shri. Joy Fernandes compared the function.
